Overview & Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Directorto own the UK marketing strategy and define marketing strategy for growth, market messaging, allocate capital efficiently and define then drive marketing metrics to guide the organisation through its next growth phase.
Reporting to the UK MD and sitting on the management team of the US CMO, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in positioning the Marketing function to execute the marketing plan for 2017 and beyond. As part of the UK Leadership team, this role is to lead the marketing function and strategize, plan, develop and implement all specific marketing programs, including different marketing channels, as well as, lead a multi-disciplined growing team of65+ campaign marketeers, online sales specialists, digital paid media execs, channel marketeers, web designers, developers and marketing operations experts.
The role is primarily centered on partnering sales teams and channel partners with support from corporate and localised marketing initiatives to develop and execute marketing strategies grounded in lead development, demand generation and sales readiness as well as building reputation, brand and establishing market presence. Vital to the Senior Directors function is responsibility for driving both qualified sales opportunities and directly attributed revenue into the business on a month to month basis.
Own all marketing initiatives across multiple customer segments in order to drive adoption of our products.
Drive creative and strategic communications; own brand campaigns, relationships with analysts, and our key partners in the UK and Benelux.
Create, drive and promote in events, conferences and launches.
Build sales materials, create specific local ones when needed (reference cases, sales presentations, and content for lead generation campaigns).
Educate users, partners, opinion leaders and internal teams about the benefits of Rackspace products and our company culture.
Build excellent working relationships with a cross-organisational group of players including product, sales, and marketing teams to create compelling communications strategies.
Develop specific print and web-based content for Rackspace as a product/company, tweak message to address UK and Benelux audience. Develop written materials, including messaging guidelines, press releases, Q&As, presentations and speeches.
Bring corporate programs to life in the respective field geography by taking programs from the corporate marketing organization and product marketing, adding customization based on the needs of the geographies, and rolling out locally.
Work with International head office to Roll-out key country-specific websites as part of overall corporate web re-architecture. Ensure those websites are kept up to date and drive online customer acquisition.
Performance measurement and budgeting, managing marketing budgets in the respective region and measuring and reporting performance of marketing activities against revenue goals.
Build thought leadership and awareness in their respective region, working closely Corporate Communications for local implementation of corporate programs.
Ensure sales and partners sales, lead development and professional services teams are properly sales enabled
Build and manage an integrated go-to-market plan, across core marketing functions, to deliver pipeline, revenue and satisfaction
Manage strategy, execution and follow up at key industry and customer events that drive thought leadership, pipeline or presence
Promote Public Relations activities: announcements of major wins, achievements, awards, events and quality exposure to regional and local media
Manage scorecard and metrics to monitor business and refine as appropriate.
Experienced Director, with a tech industry background (B2B and B2C) and demonstrated career success in technology-based companies. Strong leadership presence and communication skills
An accomplished executive who has built and led strong regional teams with diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated track record of delivering growth and building a variety of successful marketing initiatives in UK and European markets
Experienced in leading subsidiaries and/or entities of online media or technology-based companies. Technically savvy; able to rapidly learn the technology and key markets
Demonstrated success in an international, entrepreneurial environment. Personally entrepreneurial and innovative
Strong grounding in planning, product management and launch, marketing and sales
Strong commercial and financial acumen; able to position the company and products; effectively manages the brand
Experienced in implementing product strategies to penetrate new markets
Impeccable professional reputation; a broad professional network which can be leveraged for the company
Experience talking with UK/ EMEA (and international) press (messaging, conferences, meeting with press)
Experience working closely with product marketing, product, design, sales, and legal teams
Must have crisp and clear communication skills and an abundance of creative energy.
Self-starter, with a passion for building.
A strong command of classical marketing disciplines and techniques. A proven track record of successful product launches and re-positioning. Knows how to drive the top line and deliver profit objectives
