Senior Solutions Architect (Technical Pre-Sales)

Job Overview:

Rackspace is seeking world-class presales Solution Architects to join our Enterprise Technical Sales team. Successful candidates will possess hands-on experience with a broad variety of Enterprise computing infrastructure and cloud computing technologies. Our job is to give enterprises the information necessary to make easy buying decisions and design flexible, supportable solutions to customer problems utilizing the many different technology offerings in our product portfolio.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical pre-sales support resource for Rackspace sales teams and customers.

  • Utilize deep technology expertise to help design supportable, scalable technology solutions based on requirements provided by customers or prospects.

  • Support Rackspace sales efforts by positioning our unique cloud, hybrid, and dedicated infrastructure solutions against those of our competitors while translating the technical merits of the solution into value for clients.

  • Understand technology and industry issues that impact business units and IT organizations within large enterprise organizations.

  • The ability to adapt communication style to suit audiences ranging from individual engineers and developers to senior management at the VP and C-level.

  • Navigate through and extract detail from the sometimes ambiguous requirements provided by customers and prospects.


Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of customer facing experience in a technical consulting, systems engineer, or presales engineering role.

  • A track record of success developing and deploying creative technical solutions to business problems for or within large enterprise organizations.

  • Experience designing and deploying computing infrastructure solutions that span a variety of technologies (i.e. storage, networking, compute)

  • Comfort operating in a fast paced environment that’s constantly evolving and changing

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Science, Information Technology or business discipline

  • Some travel may be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One or more relevant industry recognized certifications: i.e. Azure, AWS, RHCE/A, MCITP, CCNA, VSP, CISSP, ITIL foundations.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing (IaaS or PaaS) platforms
