Overview & Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY : Assists in the preparation and releasing of external financial reports and internal reporting documents. Interprets GAAP pronouncements, and applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues. Tracks company transactions and frequently analyzes accounting information.

JOB COMPLEXITY

  • Assists in the preparation and development of external financial reporting.

  • Analyze financial statements balances and fluctuations monthly and quarterly.

  • Research intermediate GAAP and technical accounting issues related to new accounting standards, new transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other business needs.

  • Assist in technical accounting consulting to various business groups and departments.

  • Provide support to investor relations and develops critical information for earnings releases and other required external information.

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management reporting packages

  • Assist with debt covenant compliance reporting requirements

  • Participate in process improvement actions.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY

  • Intermediate understanding of technical accounting including GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

  • Strong time management, organization, and effective communication skills. Ability to work under high stress and hard deadlines.

  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.

  • Ability to adapt and learn and apply professional concepts.

  • Ability to communicate financial information and ideas so others will understand.

  • Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.

  • Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups.

  • Ability to provide FANATICAL support.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.

  • CPA preferred; at a minimum must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam.

  • Typically requires 6-9 years of professional accounting experience of 3+ years public accounting experience.

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge competency.

  • Public and/or Big Four experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply conceptual knowledge and perform practical application of US GAAP.
