Rackspace is seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our Platform Services Product team. We are looking for an innovative, passionate and enthusiastic person to help define optimal experiences & feature sets for the next-generation of Multi Cloud IT-Ops & Management Products.

The Product Manager reports to the Product Lead and is responsible for delivering product strategy, driving new product development and leading the growth of the business. The Product Manager's job includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals and communicating out to the global business in support of their products. Responsibilities in this job include developing product strategy, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, understanding market and industry trends and working closely with development, user experience, sales, marketing and support to ensure customer satisfaction goals are met. This job allows you to get close to the teams.   • What you will do on the job:

  • A Product Manager will own the product planning, inclusive of roadmap and feature definition, that will involve close collaboration with customers and business stakeholders, as well as analysis of the competitive landscape and industry.

  • Provide strategic contribution to the overall product line strategy and the individual product roadmaps.

  • Strategic leadership and tactical delivery on projects while collaborating with sales, support, and customers.

  • Collaborate with development, support, and user experience teams on product design.

  • Work closely with Operations and Support team to ensure that their requirements are met to allow for excellent customer experience using Rackspace Products.

  • Develop business cases for new offerings, research and create market/product requirements documents with prioritized features and corresponding justification.

  • Ensure products are financially viable and understand the financial impact of product changes.

  • Track product performance, conduct market research, and recommended changes to the product, the marketing plan, or the overall product objective.

  • The Product Manager will technically research competitors' products, assess competitive advantages and determine what product features and functionality will be built.

  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.

  • Be an active user of the product.


  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, launching products in the high tech industry.

  • Experience preferred withMonitoring-as-a-Servicetools like NewRelic, DataDog, CloudWatch, or Google Cloud Monitoring.

  • Previous experience with SQL or Hive, as metrics are often pulled via such means.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with peers and leaders across the business.

  • Provide direction and leadership on projects, which involve large cross-functional extended teams, including providing input to functional teams on resource negotiation, managing workload, and setting schedule.

  • Must be experienced with influencing and negotiating for priorities with senior leadership as well as technical teams both inside and outside the company.

  • Must be an excellent communicator and have a proven ability to manage high performing teams to deliver complex products effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive business change and results with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality

  • BS / MS in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field with 5 to 10 years experience in Product Manager jobs.
