As part of the product management team within the Rackspace VMware division, you will be empowered to take complete ownership of our hosting and cloud products powered by VMware technologies. What you'll do:

  • Ensure achievement of strategic revenue objectives for a specific product or product family. Researches market trends and needs.

  • Articulate results in the form of product requirements. Develops business cases and financial forecasts.

  • Play a proactive role in product planning and design to ensure the product is differentiated from competitors in the marketplace.

  • Develop content for marketing collateral and sales training to ensure successful product launches.

  • Be involved throughout the entire lifecycle of the product, working closely with development teams and support teams from product initiation to delivery to eventual product retirement.

  • Manage the success of assigned products and develops requirements for future product releases.

  • Create Product Line Strategies.

  • Develop pricing strategies and business cases for new offerings.

  • Research and creates product requirements docs.

  • Facilitate build vs. buy analysis.

  • Work with Product Marketing Manager to plan and execute go-to-market strategy.

  • Research competitors’ products, assesses competitive advantages and determines what product features and functionality will be built.

  • Provid guidance to sales teams in new customer acquisition deals.

  • Gather customer and sales feedback for continuous improvement of product.

  • Drive product evangelization among sales teams and customers.

  • Track and reports business and customer metrics for launched products.

  • Mentor or coach other Product Managers.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of the following domains: IT industry and product domain.

  • Advanced understanding of business as it relates to the hosting industry.

  • Advanced knowledge of product development life cycle with relevant experience in one or more phases.

  • Experience in VMware technologies preferred.

  • Experience in Agile product development preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, and five (5) years related experience (technology and/or product management). BS in Technology or Business preferred. MBA preferred
