Rackspace is looking for Software Test Engineers (STE) to join our Quality Engineering Organization. As an STE,you will be given the responsibility of designing, writing, and executing tests (both manual and automated) forour ServiceNow development team.

This position is based in San Antonio, although, consideration will be given for exceptional remote candidates

Job Complexity:

  • Writes and executes manual tests in support of new functionality and/or regression of existing functionality

  • Writes positive and negative smoke and regression tests to test product functionality and integration with dependencies

  • Participates in design reviews and offers insight regarding potential issues with the design. Creates test strategies and schedules based on final design.

  • Executes pre-determined automated tests and interprets results

Qualifications

Required Experience/Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred in Computer Science or related field.

  • At least 6 years of experience as a black box tester with 1-2 years of test automation experience.

  • Ability to create technical documentation

  • Knowledge of the agile development process (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.) from the test design, test automation, and execution perspective

  • Ability to analyze and translate requirements and development stories into test scripts

  • Knowledge of QA processes and methodologies

  • Strong attention to detail; written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal skills; and, time management skills

Desired Experience/Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience developing and/or testing ServiceNOW modules

  • Experience with ServiceNOW CMDB & Service Mapping modules

  • Basic understanding of software/testing methodologies such as TDD

  • Experience with Agile development processes such as Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.
