Rackspace Senior Director, Product Marketing - Integrated Solutions & COE in San Antonio, Texas

Overview & Responsibilities


The Product Marketing – Integrated Solutions function is responsible for the messaging and positioning of Rackspace solutions in the market – industry solutions, emerging technology solutions, customer-oriented solutions that solve business challenges, the Rackspace multi-cloud portfolio, and the Rackspace customer experience. This includes partnering with our solution leaders on GTM strategies, routes to market, buyer journeys, personas, and market research, and producing the core set of content and tools used by our global Sales Force and GTM teams to attract, engage, and convert prospects to customers.

The Sr. Director, Product Marketing – Integrated Solutions (or some may call that Solution Marketing) will also be responsible for running the Product Marketing Center of Excellence which provides cross-platform product marketing integration and discipline. He or she will deliver a set of scalable, high value-add product & solution marketing shared services to achieve better cross-functional integration while building consistency in outcomes through shared templates, frameworks, market intelligence, and sales enablement. He or she will collaborate across product/platform engineering, marketing, and management teams as well as the GTM organizations and external partners. This candidate should be a product marketing expert and collaborative leader to drive a strong product marketing discipline and cultivate a stronger product marketing competency.


  • Serve as the in-house product marketing expert

  • Provide overall product marketing governance and standards

  • Define rules of engagement and interlock process between Product teams, Integrated Marketing, CTO, and sales and marketing

  • Drive product marketing requirements to Platform teams

  • Standardize messaging and value proposition frameworks in conjunction with brand and product teams

  • Develop portfolio messaging and master product segmentation to enable sales and remove internal competition

  • Develop sales enablement content hierarchy and deliverable strategy based on GTM needs

  • Directs and develops the cross-platform product marketing and product launch activities as well as the institutes best practices for product marketing and launch as a standard for the product organization.

  • Works with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Marketing Communications executives to identify, develop, prioritize, and implement effective and productive product marketing strategies and plans.

  • Oversees the entire life cycle of the integrated solutions portfolio, including the work of development teams from product initiation to delivery, to eventual product retirement.

  • Oversees the planning and implementation of the solutions strategy to enable the GTM teams to accelerate in the market.

  • Keeps executive-level management informed of departmental progress and problems.



  • Deep understanding of selling strategies and GTM mechanism

  • Proactive self-starter who is comfortable taking somewhat ill-defined direction and turning it into clear deliverables and business impact in a highly dynamic environment

  • Ability to communicate and lead cross functionally across the organization without a reporting structure

  • Solid business and financial acumen

  • Demonstrated ability to influence across organizations and implement programs across multiple teams

  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with cross-functional leaders, executives, operations, finance, marketing and sales team members

  • Demonstrated track record of strong leadership and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills are critical.

  • Must be able to collaborate and influence in a global, matrix environment to effectively balance Regional and functional priorities for win-win results.

  • Highest level of knowledge of all Rackspace products, as well as relevant hosting technologies and trends, company policies, and practices.

  • Thought leader with regards to B2B product marketing processes and operational planning techniques, as well as competitive, market, customer, and business research. Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.


  • 10+ years experience in product marketing, marketing planning, or consulting function required with progressive responsibilities and proven results

  • 7+ years in high tech/cloud industry preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or related curriculum.

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
